George N. Barnard

Born in Coventry, Connecticut in 1819, Barnard was active from 1851 as a daguerreotypist in Oswego, New York, Syracuse, New York, and Charleston, South Carolina. He died in Cedarvale, New York in 1902. Barnard is best known for his album of 61 albumen prints in Photographic Views of Sherman's Campaign (1866), documenting the battlefields after Sherman's march through the South.
