British photographer, active in South Africa

Brief biography, in most instances from the Union List of Artist Names® Online:
Berry moved to South Africa in 1952, where he worked as a professional photographer for two newspapers. His work typically captures the image frontally and is aimed directly at the event portrayed. His images of racial uprisings are among his best known. In 1978, he became vice president of the Magnum agency.
