The image is one of seven impressions of the incised designs ornamenting the faces of the “Corona Luminaria” (chandelier) given in 1165 to the Cathedral of Aix-la-Chapelle by Emperor Frederick Barbarossa when the Corona was taken down for repairs in the 12th century.
