Jacques de Gheyn

Dutch draftsman, painter, and engraver
Dutch (Flemish), (1565–1629)
His spontaneous and informal drawings and engravings document the transition from Mannerism to naturalism in Dutch art. He worked at the Court of Orange and designed the grotto, the first in the Netherlands, for Buitenhof, Prince Maurice's garden.
