Provenance / Collectors' Marks: Gift of the artist to Janet Chatfield-Taylor (died 1982, wife of the donor), who worked for Paris Vogue and as Fashion Director of Marshall Field and Saks, and had Avedon do work for her when she was employed at Vanity Fair.
