Edition: From L’Estampe Moderne vol. 2, no. 21, January 1899; printed by L’Imprimerie Champenois, distributed by Masson & Pizza. L’Estampe Moderne was published from 1897 to 1899 in two volumes comprising 103 prints (the DAC also has one set of 4 duplicates and 3 premium prints); about 34–37 are not original but are reproductions or collotypes. Although collotypes (photolithographs after drawings) had appeared in some earlier portfolios, they were used more frequently in the last issues, in which they reproduced such images as this and Agache’s Impéria.
