Edition: From “L’Album de la Galerie Contemporaine,” (2-1, 1877) published by Goupil et Cie, Paris, 1877; issued from 1876–1884, this publication contained portraits of famous figures issued in albums, each devoted to one individual’s biography. The woodburytypes were made from negatives produced by photographers including Nadar, Salomon, and Carjet.
