Ltd., London, October 1965: cat. no. 133: “An early and important album of lithographs by Barker, who was included among those who contributed to ‘Specimens of Polyautography. London, 1803’ the first lithographic work published in England. These forty prints were drawn on stone with pen in the manner of ‘free etchings.’ During lithography’s early development and until its potentials were more fully understood the use of pen and ink directly on the stone or on transfer paper was the most popular technique. The list of subscribers contains 114 names and Barker states that ‘no more that two hundred copies shall be printed.’”
