Provenance / Collectors' Marks: From a collection formed by Mr. Mitchell's great-grandfather, Capt. Parker P. Norton (1810–1851), Portland, CT. He was captain and half-owner of packet Liberty & Vanguard, plying between New York and Liverpool; married into the Williams family of Portland. These prints came to light in the house in which he lived.
