When he first saw the coat on the bed, it seemed to be someone sleeping… Perhaps he had left some of himself behind.

How peculiar to hold one’s own shadow…

Now he thought of how it was then.

Above his head, the coat became a solitary black cloud.

As the cloud descended upon his face, night fell.

A black cat sat on his stomach… He wondered if he would die soon.

Now was becoming then.

In the back room, he silently removed his clothing…

He caressed the coat as if he was embracing himself.

In an instant, he thrust the coat into the air, …bending him backwards violently.

Now was then.

As he walked to the door, he began to enclose himself in the coat.

His shadow began to swallow him into itself.

Inside the darkness his hand found himself.

Now is then.
