Although this impression is inscribed “17/99,” the planned edition of 99 for a portfolio was never completed and only a few (number uncertain) were printed. The image was published in “Life” magazine, March 8, 1968, as part of the story “A Harlem Family” or “At the Poverty Board.” The story included 25 photographs and text by Parks about the Fontanelle family.
