Provenance / Collectors' Marks: Edward Steichen; acquired from the artist in the early 1950s by an unidentified neighbor in Woodstock, Vermont, together with a group of other photographs "from Captain Steichen." This photograph was purchased from Steichen's neighbor by Marcuse Pfeiffer Gallery, New York, NY, from which it was acquired by Einstein.
